An Audience with Mary Queen of Scots at Fotheringhay Church

TV historian Lesley Smith, curator of Tutbury Castle and resident historian on  ‘Most Haunted Live!’ as well as presenter of ‘Most Haunted: Midsummer Murders’ is well known for donning authentic replica costumes for dramatic interpretations of both Queen Elizabeth I as well as Mary, Queen of Scots, to bring Elizabethan history to life.

Even more fittingly you can see her portrayal in Fotheringhay Church just metres from where after being accused of plotting Elizabeth’s murder, she was tried and beheaded at Fotheringhay Castle.

More than 400 years later, there will be a chance for visitors to have their very own ‘Audience with Mary Queen of Scots’, on 25th September

A glittering presentation by Lesley Smith, in character as Mary will be followed by drinks and a Tudor supper.

Tickets cost £25 each (£20 for Friends of Fotheringhay Church), including drinks and supper. The lecture begins at 6.30pm, followed by drinks at 7.15 and supper at 7.30pm.
