Frequently asked questions

We are attending a wedding at Burghley House – please can you give me directions?

Please click here for a directions and location map. Our postcode is PE9 3JY if you are using satellite navigation.

Can I leave my car in the car park over night?

You are more than welcome to leave your car over night but this is done at your own risk. Your car must be removed by 11am the following day.

Do you have cloakroom facilities?

We don’t have permanent cloakroom facilities but can provide coat rails & umbrella stands when necessary. All coats and belongings are left at the owners risk.

Can you tell us the telephone number of a local taxi company?

It is recommended that taxis are booked in advance and some numbers for local firms are shown on our location page.

Is Burghley wheelchair accessible?

Burghley aims to be as accessible as possible to all within the confines of a Grade One listed building. Disabled parking is available close to the house entrance and there are disabled toilet facilities on the ground floor. The Great Hall & the Orangery are both on the first floor and are accessible via a chair lift. This lift does not take a wheelchair and you will need to transfer onto and off the lift.

Do you have baby changing facilities?

Yes, they are located in the Chestnut Courtyard.

Do you allow confetti?

Confetti is allowed in the form of real, dried flower petals but not in any other form such as paper, rice or party poppers. Bubbles are not permitted inside the House as they can cause marking on the floors, walls etc.

Do you take credit cards when purchasing drinks at the bar?

Yes, we accept most major credit and debit cards except American Express.
