Defender Burghley horse trials launches contest to win a free stand

Burghley Horse Trials hopes to encourage exciting young businesses with the launch of a new competition to win a free exhibition stand at this year’s Defender Burghley Horse Trials.

The event invites businesses of less than five years of age, that have not exhibited at an event of Burghley’s size before, to win a free 3m x 2m stand in the Burghley Lifestyle or Horse Village Pavilion, worth more than £2,000. The stand will be fully fitted with carpet, name boarding, WiFi, spotlights and comes with vehicle and exhibitor passes, two season event passes for promotional use and parking for an on-site caravan if required. In a post-event survey last year, 45% of visitors to Burghley Horse Trials said they spent more than £150 shopping at the event.

We have always been extremely proud of the range and quality of the high-end exhibitors who attend Burghley each year. Our shopping village is the jewel of the autumn social calendar. But we know these are challenging times for any business and we hope that this will be a brilliant leg up for a young company, to engage with some 170,000 discerning shoppers at Burghley, and build their brand.

Martyn Johnson | Event Director

To enter, businesses must provide detail about their company’s products, background, goals and core values to the entry portal by 14 April 2024. The winner will be selected by a panel that includes Burghley Horse Trials Event President Miranda Rock, Assistant Event Director Sophie Attwood, Tradestand Manager Gail Dale, Marketing and PR Manager Lucy Higginson, and retail expert Malcolm Levitt, formerly head of eCommerce of Next.

The 2024 Defender Burghley Horse Trials take place from 5-8 September.
