Lady Dorothy Cecil Trust

Lady Dorothy Cecil’s charity was established in 1605 to support the education of local people

The objectives of the Trust are to award Bursaries, maintenance allowances or other financial assistance to beneficiaries who reside in one of the Parishes of Stamford who either attend or have attended a school in Stamford.

The donations are for educational purposes. In the past the Trust has awarded donations for University or further education, for the purchase of tools, instruments or books or for study of music or other arts. Allowances can be used for educational visits abroad or to assist with education and training for employment. In the past donations have been given towards the cost of school trips where low income families are unable to afford to pay for them. Donations are usually in the region of £500.

The Trustees welcome applications from any candidate who can fulfil any of the above criteria, however are also pleased to hear from candidates who might wish to apply for any assistance towards any educational activity.

Applications are considered and donations awarded twice per year.

The deadlines for 2023/2024 applications are 31 December 2023 and 31 May 2024.
