Perfectly situated on the edge of Stamford, Burghley offers so much more than a stately home, with the historic local town providing a great visitor destination

Stamford is widely regarded as one of the finest stone towns in England and offers a charming, character-filled destination to explore. With over 600 listed buildings of mellow limestone including five medieval churches its pretty facades make it a popular spot for visitors, shoppers and film producers.

There is a thriving high street with coffee shops, restaurants and a vast range of retailers to tempt you. Whilst the surrounding narrow cobbled streets and hidden courtyards are home to a variety of specialist shops. Every Friday there is also a bustling street market with over 90 stalls to browse.

As well as historic places of interest, Stamford hosts various festivals and events, an Arts Centre and a Theatre. Nearby Rutland Water, the largest reservoir in England, is hugely popular for those wishing to explore the outdoors.
