One of the largest and grandest houses of the 16th Century, Burghley is the heart-felt legacy of William Cecil, Lord High Treasurer to Queen Elizabeth I.

Get ready for epic adventures at Hide & Secrets.
Fun-packed woodland play zones lead to the huge Hidden Towers play structure with multi-level play including two enormous slides, climbing walls, wobbly walkways, tunnels and lookout nests.

This enchanting garden is inspired by the Elizabethan fascination with astrology, astronomy and classical civilisations.
Watch the tranquil water features, peer into the misty depths of the moss house, venture through the mirrored maze and find yourself at the centre of the world using the longitudinal dial.
Lion Bridge
Lion Bridge was designed by Britain’s most famous landscape designer, Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown, who masterminded extensive re-landscaping and alterations to Burghley Park and House between 1755 and 1778.
Offering one of most-loved vistas of Burghley House, the short walk to Lion Bridge is a must during your visit.
Main Visitor Entrance
The Main Visitor Entrance for visitors arriving by car to Burghley is located on Barnack Road.
There is a bus stop here for visitors travelling on the local bus service.
Sculpture Garden

This beautiful and tranquil garden is an open-air gallery, home to a collection of striking sculpture.
The works are displayed alongside sweeping borders, broad drifts of wildflowers and naturalistic planting. Enjoy serene views across Capability Brown's great lake and explore the meandering pathways.

The Dairy
Nestled in the heart of the Burghley Estate, The Dairy is a spectacular 19th Century building with an idyllic rural setting and stunning views of Burghley House and its surrounding Parkland.
Available to book for self-catering breaks for up to 20 guests, corporate away days and special occasions.

The Orangery Restaurant

The Muddy Mole

The Muddy Mole is set right in the heart of the action in Hide & Secrets Adventure Play, serving tasty hot dogs and snacks to take away, as well as hot and cold drinks.
