Maintenance Assistant

We are recruiting for a Maintenance Assistant to work at Burghley across our full property portfolio of residential and commercial buildings.

The role includes undertaking reactive and planned maintenance and minor works alongside colleagues within the Estate Maintenance team. The team includes Joiners, Painters & Decorators, and Stonemasons.

The role includes undertaking emergency, reactive and cyclical maintenance, repairs and minor new works, in line with industry standards, statutory requirements, relevant codes of practice, all in a professional and customer focused manner.

Tasks may include 

•    Drainage related service, repairs and maintenance
•    Minor plumbing jobs
•    Minor electrical jobs
•    Tiling works to showers, bathrooms, kitchens 
•    Plastering, patching works 
•    Joinery, for example flooring, fitting skirting and architraves, replacing door handles, easing / adjusting / fitting new locks and making good on completion 
•    Completion of various inspections as directed by the Head of Building Services
•    Minor decoration works 
•    Fitting of life safety systems, for example smoke detectors, and CO2 detectors 
•    Replacing light bulbs or tubes and fuses
•    Replacing toilet seats, flush handles, and various dispensers 
•    Assessing and completing all necessary pre-let repairs and advising on timescale to get in and turnaround properties 
•    Triaging jobs before contractors attend and reporting back to the Building Services Manager
•    Provide help and assistance with preparation for Park events as required
•    Any other general maintenance task or other reactionary work that arises and that you are equipped to fulfil 
 

Additional Requirements

You will participate in the team’s emergency out of hours “on-call rota” – 1 week in every 4 (including weekends)

You are required to hold a current full driving licence to drive Estate vehicles, to enable you to carry out offsite/inter-site travel, delivery and collection of staff, materials and equipment to and from various sites across the estate.
