Job Title: Painter and Decorator
 

Type of Contract: Full-time, permanent
 

Salary: £30,000-£32,000 per annum
 

Job Summary

We are recruiting for a Painter and Decorator to work at Burghley House and Estate and across our full property portfolio of residential and commercial buildings.

The role includes undertaking reactive and planned internal and external decoration works across the whole property portfolio of Burghley Estate. As part of this role, you will be working alongside colleagues within the Estate Maintenance team, the team includes other decorators, joiners, maintenance workers, roofers and stone masons. The role is fulltime and is permanent.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Day to day decoration works including, priming, undercoating, glossing, varnishing and staining.
  • Preparation of all surfaces including filling and surface sanding.
  • Putty pointing of glazing prior to decoration
  • Wallpaper and lining paper removal, preparation and installation
  • Completion of various inspections as directed by the Building Services Manager.
  • Assessing and completing all necessary pre-let repairs and advising on time scale to get in and turn around properties
  • Triaging jobs before contractors attend and reporting back to the Building Services Manager.
  • Any other general maintenance task or other reactionary work that arises and that you are equipped to fulfil
  • Stock control, materials purchasing, collection and delivery of equipment and materials as necessary


Skills and Experience Required

  • Driving licence
  • Previous relevant work experience.
  • Good awareness and understanding of personal health and safety, and risk assessments.
  • Excellent attention to detail


Working Hours & Salary

  • 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday
  • You will participate in the team’s emergency out of hours on-call rota – 1 week in every 4 (including weekends).
  • Salary: £30,000–£32,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
