In The Press: Botanic Tapestry
The historic gardens of Burghley House have been transformed this spring by Botanic Tapestry, an exciting outdoor art installation created by artist duo Graphic Rewilding. Clare and Nicholas Rudd-Jones from Stamford Living talked to Catherine Borowski from Graphic Rewilding to discuss their inspiration and work.
This interview explores the collaboration between Burghley House and Graphic Rewilding who are known for bringing nature into urban spaces. Faced with an alternative creative opportunity at Burghley, the artists drew inspiration from the House’s Collections as well as the flora and fauna found in the gardens, weaving motifs like the Rembrandt tulip and lotus flower into their work. Using vibrant fabric flags, they aim to celebrate and draw attention to the intricate details of nature and encourage visitors to see their surroundings in a fresh light, fostering a deeper connection between art, history, and the natural world.
