Wild Arts presents a Summer Opera Evening
Enjoy an unforgettable open-air opera experience in Burghley's beautiful South Gardens. With Burghley House as the backdrop, join Wild Arts for magical arias, songs and ensembles, informally staged to make a narrative, performed by four world-class singers and a string quintet. The show will take you on an emotional journey, leaving you both in stitches and with tears in your eyes, all before the night's end.
Featuring music by Handel, Mozart, Puccini, Verdi,
Bernstein and Rodgers & Hammerstein, with some modern surprises and unusual gems.
Up-and-coming operatic stars from the world's great opera houses and a virtuoso quintet of fine musicians will transport you to another world with their breathtakingly high musical standard - a must-see for all music lovers.
The South Gardens will be open exclusively for concert guests from 4pm. Bring your own picnic to enjoy or pre-order a Burghley Picnic. Seating will be available for the performance, but you are also welcome to bring your own chairs or rugs to sit on.

DATE | Thursday 20th July 2023.
TIME | South Gardens open from 4pm. Concert from 6pm to approximately 7.45pm including interval.
LOCATION | South Gardens, Burghley House. Please note in the event of bad weather, the concert will take place in Burghley's Great Hall.
TICKETS | £35 per person, pre-booking required.
REFRESHMENTS | Drinks will be available to purchase from The Orangery before the concert and during the interval. See below for Burghley Picnics and Afternoon Teas.
ACCESSIBILITY | The South Gardens are accessed via a flight of steps, a Stannah chair lift is available. The performance takes place on a grassed area and accessed via a gravel pathway.

Treat yourself to one of our delicious Burghley picnics. With savoury, cheese and sweet options all included plus the option to add a bottle of bubbly. Presented in a handy cool bag containing everything you need so you can just turn up and tuck in!

Afternoon Tea in The Orangery & Rose Garden
For a quintessentially English afternoon, enjoy an Afternoon Tea before the performance. The elegant interiors of the 18th century Orangery Restaurant offer an exquisite setting for Afternoon Tea. Whilst the Rose Garden provides the opportunity to dine amongst the roses and lavender on a sunny day.
Enjoy delicious sandwiches, homemade scones, cakes and savoury treats served with a selection of teas and coffees. Why not add a bit of sparkle to the occasion with a glass of Prosecco?
Afternoon Tea reservations are available from 3pm.
