Wildflower Walk at Dawn
Experience Burghley's wildflowers in the soft light of dawn
Join us at sunrise for an exclusive guided tour of Burghley’s wildflowers with Head Gardener Joe Whitehead. Enjoy the stillness of the early morning as the gardens begin to come alive and colour and detail emerge in the soft light.
Start with a visit to the ancient wildflower meadows on the far side of Burghley's lake, where blooms have flourished naturally for hundreds of years. Take in the shimmering colour and captivating views across the water. The tour continues into the Sculpture Garden, to explore the carefully planned and tended wildflower displays. Along the way, learn about the varied seed mixes, cultivation techniques, and ongoing work that creates this spectacular show of colour.
This is a rare opportunity to experience the gardens in the early morning when they are at their most magical. The tour concludes with a delicious breakfast served in the Orangery Restaurant - the perfect treat to complete this special morning. Choose from:
Bacon deli sandwich homemade spiced apple and tomato chutney on white or brown bloomer bread
Smashed avocado on toast with poached eggs on white or brown bloomer bread (V)
Includes a choice of tea, coffee and fruit juices.
