Tudor Games and Dance KS1

In this lively, interactive session, pupils discover the music, dance and games enjoyed during Tudor times. They'll listen to Tudor music, learn to dance the Pavane and find out how Queen Elizabeth and her courtiers spent their leisure time.

Working together through whole-class and small-group activities, pupils experience the fun of Tudor games while exploring how entertainment has changed over time. 

What pupils do

• Learn to dance the ‘The Pavane’.
• Listen to Tudor music.
• Identify and order the Tudor monarchs.
• Take part in whole-class and small-group Tudor games, such as 'Lord Bean'. 

What to expect

• Takes place in a classroom-style learning space.
• Delivered in groups of up to 30 pupils.
• The session lasts approximately 30 minutes.
• Led by a costumed educator.
• The session is delivered at an age-appropriate level for Key Stage 1 pupils.

SEND & accessibility

• This is an active session involving movement, participation and group interaction.

• The activity can be lively at times and may generate increased noise levels.

• The session takes place in a level-access learning space.

• Toilets are located nearby.

• There is easy access to outdoor space should a pupil need time away from the activity with an accompanying adult.

• The educator can adapt information and delivery to support the needs of the group.
